Adolescent Dental Care

Teenagers are in a stage of life where everything is changing; whether that be socially, physically, or psychologically.  This is certainly true in dentistry.  As we age into our teens; our teeth are constantly shifting and erupting into their final adult locations; which sometimes means they come in where they are supposed to and sometimes not.  As our patients age, we track their progress to make sure there is enough space for the adult dentition to come in as well as to make sure the teeth are oriented in the correct angulation for proper occlusion.  Some areas of discussion for children of this age include sugary snacking, wisdom teeth, braces, and oral piercings.  More information about these topics can be found at the link below. As always though; it is imperative for teens to have good diets and oral hygiene habits including brushing, flossing, using mouthwash, and having regular dental check-ups.
